Moon Time Ritual
Honoring your cycle can be a beautiful and empowering experience. Inspired by the tradition of the Red Tent, at My Moon we aim to bring the sacred and celebration of our cycles back into our world. We strive to inspire a community that values reconnection, remembrance, readiness and sisterhood.
There are many traditions and practices that honor the first blood, womb cycles and reciprocity with the earth and elements.
We believe that if you have never had a celebration for your cycle, reclaim it now.
Below is a ritual idea you can try, or create your own!

Explain the significance of supporting one another during important life changes and the idea of the Red Tent.
The Red Tent was a place where women gathered to support and connect with each other during important life moments like their first blood. It represents the strength and wisdom of women sharing their experiences and celebrating the wisdom of the womb.
Sharing and Storytelling:
Encourage the women present to share their own stories of their first moon time, or any other meaningful moments around being a woman.
This part celebrates the bond between women and how sharing our stories can help us feel supported, understood and celebrated.
Mirror of Self-Reflection:
Look into the mirror and reflect on the changes that you are experiencing.
Recognize the beauty and strength of this powerful time.
Anointing and Blessings:
Offer a bowl of water and flowers.
Let each woman present take a flower, dip it in the water, and gently touch it to the forehead, shoulders, and heart while offering blessings and words of encouragement.
Optionally, use My Moon Belly Balm or a special oil to rub on arms, legs, and feet, offering love, comfort and support.

Write down thoughts, feelings, and hopes for this new phase of life on the dream page of your My Moon Journal.
